IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY OFFICERS PRIVATE PURCHASE TUNIC

WW2 IJA Lightweight Officers tunic
Similar in style to the type 98 tunic but not quite the same
Made of good quality lightweight Olive Drab cotton material
With partial lining -
Arms ,shoulders and both inner sides / breast area.
(Leaving an unlined back section)
Two internal pockets and an embroidered "Kanji"
The collar has its original hook and eye throat closures
Both the collar and jacket cuffs have liner attachment studs
Jacket is single breasted,
With 5 x flat gold coloured buttons to the front
2 x button down breast pockets
With scalloped pocket flaps & 2 x flapped hip pockets
There's also medal mounts ( x2 ?) to the chest
With evidence on the collar of rank insignia being removed
A couple of small moth nips to the back
A 1.25" x 2" L shaped field repair to one lower edge
(Very well executed )
Otherwise in very god condition.
Collar insignia could easily be replaced
Make a nice addition to any WW2 Far East collection.
