SHORTENED 1856 YATAGHAN BAYONET (CADET)

Somewhat worn example of a cutdown British 1856
Yataghan bayonet.
Blade reduced to approx 13.25” long
With various WD - Inspection stamps
It’s dirty with some minor rust & discolouration
Cross guard and pommel with light pitting all over
Original pressed leather grips and working push stud
Shortened leather scabbard with loose top mount.
Body is cracked but stable
Mounts are lightly pitted with some surface rust.
It’s in as found condition.
I’ve done nothing at all to it -
To be honest it should clean up fairly well
A bit of TLC could easily improve this item.
It is what it is not a relic by any means
But not a show stopper either !
