Patriotic WW1 German “Iron for Gold” medallion
Contained in a silver pin backed brooch mount.

Medallion is blackened Iron & dated 1916
These were exchanged for gold used in the war effort
Mounted as a piece of jewellery,
No doubt worn proudly by a Patriotic German Lady
To show that she’d done her bit -
For God, Kaiser & Fatherland !

Nice item some minor loss of blackened finish
Otherwise in very good collectable condition
