1891 PATT MOSIN NAGANT BAYONET IN STEEL SCABBARD

Imp Russian 1891 Patt Mosin Nagant socket bayonet
Cruciform blade with Imperial Russian markings
Working steel locking ring
Contained in a Steel tubular scabbard
With “German “ type frog stud
M/N Rifles & Bayonets we’re captured in there 1000’s
The Russian’s didn’t issue scabbards to their troops
The bayonets being fixed to the rifles at all times
Scabbards were made for the captured bayonets
By numerous countries,
Finland, Romania, Austro Hungary & Germany
This one appears to be of German origin.
These were fairly plentiful some years ago
But are not as common as they once were
A nice addition to any WW1 collection.
