WW2 CANADIAN B TYPE FLYING HELMET

Canadian “B” type flying helmet
No size markings but appears to be small - Medium
Made from soft leather with a chamois type lining
Zipped domed ear covers (Lightening Zippers)
A Canadian firm based in Niagara
With the split & double buckle to the rear
As seen on RAF “B” type helmets
Chin strap with friction buckle fixing

Helmet leather has some minor damage
(Tiny bit of edge cracking )
Ear dome may have been resown (Or not ?)
Liner is grubby , with some minor damage
Two seams have slightly opened
There’s a small tear to the chamois in the crown
With a small hole in the ear “Donut “
Helmet was very dry when obtained.
It’s had numerous applications of a leather restorer
That has darkened it slightly but revived it totally .
It’s not perfect but definitely an acceptable piece
A good addition to any WW2 collection
A fraction of the price of a RAF B type in similar condition !
