Nice clean WW2 British khaki side cap
Lined in a light brown cotton material .
Makers stamp to the lining
“A & J GELFER - GLASGOW”
Size 6 3/4 and dated 1939 with a Broad Arrow.
Brass General Service badge held by a split pin
Fitted with white metal oversized Polish buttons
(As in they can’t be undone as too big for the holes )

When Poland & France fell in 1940 ,
Thousands of Polish troops were evacuated to the Uk
Many were moved to Scotland
Where the 1st Polish Corps was formed
Under General W.adyslaw Sikorsky -
Prime Minister of the Polish Government in Exile

This ties up with a 1939 dated Scottish made cap
With Polish buttons & a GS cap badge .
