VICTORIAN QUEENS OWN DORSET YEOMANRY CAVALRY CAPE

Very unusual Black Victorian button up Cape
(Presumably made of wool )
Fully lined with an off white waxed cotton type fabric
(With what appears to be a name label in the back)

Having three buttons to the front ,
Made of either Silver or Heavy Silver Plate
To the -
QUEENS OWN D.Y.C with a central Victorian Crown
The neck or collar has a chain & hook type clasp
Again in either Silver or Heavy Silver Plate
The clasp itself is a large Tudor Rose
( As found on British Army Officers capes )

Three buttons holes to the neck of cape
Presumably for either a stiff collar
Or possibly a detachable hood ?

One rear seam has partially opened up
Nothing that couldn’t be easily repaired.
All in all a very unusual item
In good collectible condition
I very much doubt that you’ll find another one
(Except maybe in a Regimental - Museum)
