1918 DATED WILKINSON SMLE BAYONET

First World War 1907 SMLE Bayonet & Scabbard .

Blued blade , pommel & cross guard ,
In as found condition
(I’ve done nothing at all, except wipe the blade)
Pommel with some age related wear,
Both blade and cross guard are in VGC

Blade appears double stamped
On one side
As in a “Bounce” on the manufacturers marking
Of - WILKINSON PALL MALL
The date 05-18 & 1907 are visible,
But the Kings Crown is quite faint.
The other side has acceptance stamps etc .
I don’t know if the blade has been re finished,
Or it came from the factory this way
Either way it’s been like this for a very long time.

Dark wood wooden grips held by screw bolts
With general wear and acceptance stamps to both.

Complete with an original leather scabbard
Steel top & bottom mounts with circular frog stud

A good honest bayonet .
