WW2 BRITISH GPO STENCILLED HELMET

Nice Original Home Front GPO helmet.
Black Painted helmet,
Maker marked RO.CO.A 1 43
(Rubery Owen & Co Ltd of Leeds. 1939 - 1943 )
With GPO stencilled in Red & white to the front.
The painted finish has some very old rust bloom
It’s stable and does not detract from the helmet
Original maker marked black oil cloth liner
Stamped -B.M.B 11- 1940
(A little dry with a couple of splits but totally original)
With separate crown cushion
(Gone a bit white and crunchy)
Both held in place by a large headed screw bolt
Complete with elasticated khaki chin strap.
(As used on later produced helmets )
It’s stretched and lost its elasticity, but original.
Please note the stencil isn’t as bright as the photo .
Not sure if it’s the light or my camera
(I’m happy enough that it’s original )
A nice untouched helmet ,in good collectible condition
Along with the other GPO helmet listed
This came directly from the family of a Wartime
GPO / Home Guard member .
