KENT MOBILE RESERVE / RESCUE HELMET

Extremely Scarce WW2 Kent Civil Defence Helmet
Named inside to “Spencer”
A member of the “ Kent Mobile Reserve “
The helmet has a good 90% of it’s original black paint
With an R to the back (Rescue)
KENT MOBILE RESERVE to the front
(Inside a feint oval )
Feint makers mark on the shell possibly BMB or RMR
But can’t make out a date
Liner is marked TTC 1940 .
No damage to the rexine liner tongues
But two of the liner cross pieces are bent out of shape
Original liner crown cross cushion
Held in place by a large screw and washer
Original spring sided khaki material chinstrap.

A very unusual helmet.
This came from a long standing Kent collection
Is in my opinion totally original and untouched.

The following was taken from the internet-

The Kent Mobile Reserve was a pioneering Civil Defence force created in 1940 to assist areas in Kent and Sussex overwhelmed by air raids. As the first of its kind, it consisted of full-time personnel and vehicles focused on rescue, ambulance, and decontamination, later setting the standard for Regional Civil Defence Reserve Columns nationwide.

Key Aspects of the Kent Mobile Reserve (1940-1945):
Origin: Proposed by the Regional Commissioner for Tunbridge Wells to serve the South Eastern Region (Kent, East Sussex, and West Sussex).
Structure: Comprised three companies (roughly 200 staff) equipped with vehicles and specialist personnel, including rescuers and first aid squads

As can be seen from above a small but important unit
Can’t be many if any of these helmets left.
Probably one of the scarcest examples you’ll find
