WW1 ITALIAN ARTILLERY VETERANS SIDE CAP

Very unusual inter wars Italian Vetrans side cap.
Made of Grey Green (Grigio-Verde) material
As used in WW1 by the Italian army
Post WW1 by paramilitary / Veteran groups .
With yellow piping & yellow cotton / silk lining.
Front with heavily embroidered artillery badge
(Crossed cannons & flaming grenade) .
One side decorated with single officers rank pip
(Silver wire embroidered)
The other with the ribbon on the 14-18 War Medal
With four attached miniature stars .
These would denote 4 years WW1 service .
A really unusual piece of headgear.
In good used / worn condition.

The Italian Bustina was introduced in the 1920’s
Becoming general issue by 1933
As such I date this sidecap between those years
This was recently purchased from an Italian dealer
I’ve no issues with it authenticity.
A nice addition to any Italian collection.
