Exceptional WW1 period Private Purchase
“German Trench Knife”
Heavy Stag horn grip best part of 4” long
With a large brass pommel cap
White metal grip collar
With short stubby cross guard 2” across.
Good quality unmarked 6” blade
Double edged for the last 3”
Complete with its original brown leather scabbard.
With a White metal ball ended chape
Loose but still held in place by a wire staple.
Looks like originally there may have been a belt loop
But this has been lost to time.
A very tactile knife ,
Showing some age discolouration to the blade
But nothing you wouldn’t expect to see
Or that detracts from the item.
A cracking addition to any collection.
