WW2 GERMAN RE-ISSUE FRENCH LEBEL BAYONET

WW2 German S103
(Shortened & re issued Lebel Bayonet )
1st pattern 1886 with white metal non removable hilt
(Still retaining its quillion )
Blade reduced in length to approx 326mm
(German blades we’re officially 342 mm long)
So it is a tad short-
But the scabbard is definitely a German cut down
Reduced to 362mm with a riveted end cap
(As per photo)
Both bayonet and scabbard have been together years
With a matching patina -
Polished some time in the distant past
Now with age related oxidation etc.
During the occupation / WW2
The Germans didn’t mark their captured bayonets
(Unlike WW1 when they stamped up everything)
But I’m happy myself it’s what I’ve said it is.
Please bear this in mind if you purchase this item.
It’s blade is shorter than German Re-issued pieces
But -
The Scabbard is a 100% German cut down.
As per pics - some general wear and discolouration
Though still a good collectable bayonet.
