PRE WAR LEWIS PATTERN FLYING HELMET

Pre War Lewis Pattern Flying Helmet.

Original black leather flying helmet ,
With soft chamois type leather lining
Made by Lewis of London.
(Internal label as per photos )
Retaining its original gosport tubes / ear pieces.
Good overall condition with minor wear
Commensurate with age ,
The leather is supple and retains a good colour
Chrome furniture now dull with age ,
But I’m sure that it could be polished up if necessary.
All in all a good honest helmet.
Would make a nice addition to any collection.

A 1930’s flying helmet,
But was often used / worn in WW2
By civilian Air Transport Auxiliary Pilots
