1888 PATTERN LEE METFORD BAYONET & FROG

Good honest as found 1888 Lee Metford Bayonet
With Matching numbers.
Double edged 12” Blade
One side stamped-
Crowned VR - 11/96 (November 1896)
The other with -
Broad Arrow WD & proof markings
Wooden grips held by two brass rivets
(With oil hole both sides above the top rivet)
Pommel numbered 433, with working push stud.
Steel mounted black leather scabbard
Top mount numbered on the throat 433.
Complete with a brown leather General service frog.
(8 brass rivets and sown construction)
No visible makers or issue markings to it.
In very good but used condition.
Buckle & strap still supple (Not been undone etc)
Some minor loss of leather chrome to pommel area.

Some minor pitting to the blade ,
Very light random pitting to the cross guard / pommel
A nice honest piece ,reasonably priced
In good collectible condition
