HAND PAINTED WARTIME “CHURCHILL SPEACH”

Hand painted with Churchill’s famous speech-
Broadcast after the fall of Dunkirk in 1940-
“We Shall Never Surrender “
Decorated with divisional insignia to the corners
Marked XVIII PIONEER COMPANY
Possibly a one off very well executed & very emotive
Came directly from a WW2 serviceman’s family
Along with various other odds and ends.
A really nice piece of WW2 memorabilia

PAIR OF ATS - ARMY OFFICERS BOOTS

Very nice pair of chestnut brown boots
Part lace up , with a double buckle top
Stamped 1944 inside along with the makers name -
John White - M Fitt
There’s also a name in ink -Maj Holloway
These are I believe RAOC pattern boots
But due to the size I’m not 100% positive
They are small only about 11” from tip of toe to heel !
Without hobnails just Blakey’s front and back
I’m sure these would have been female issue
Maybe for an ATS Officer or driver
I can’t guarantee they will fit anyone
These are being sold as display items only
Study the pictures carefully,
They make up part of the description
Please bear this in mind if you decide to purchase
Still a very nice looking pair of boots !

WW2 SFP ZUCKERMAN PATT HELMET

WW2 Private Purchase Zuckerman helmet
Original grey painted finish
With SFP stencilled to the front
(Street Fire Party)
This would have been issued to CD members
Though they were available to the public
As private purchase items via Woolworths !
The inner rim of the helmet is marked -
A.M.C 1/ 1941 & a large letter M
(Austin Motor Company January 1941 -Medium)
The original leather and webbing liner
Is held in place by a shoelace
It’s a little worn & dry but still in good condition
Only fault is a small piece of leather missing
No chinstrap but again a shoelace or string was used
Honest untouched helmet & very underrated !

1891 NAGANT BAYONET IN GERMAN SCABBARD

Imperial Russian 1891 Mosin Nagant socket bayonet
In a zinc German made scabbard
Tens of thousands of Russian rifles & bayonets
Were captured and re issued to WW1 German troops
The Russians carried the bayonet permanently fixed
The Germans didn’t
So scabbards were produced to accommodate them
This scabbard has a internal throat spring
A circular frog stud and as stated a sheet zinc body
Unfortunately it has been damaged at some time
The very end 2” being crudely re attached
This could possibly be repaired or improved on
A fairly scarce item in honest condition
At fault as I’ve said and reasonably priced.

SAXON 1845 PATTERN SHORT SWORD & SCABBARD

Brass hilted Saxon Artillery sword & scabbard
Ribbed brass grip with straight brass cross guard
Cross guard stamped 12.A.F 8. 149
This corresponds with the top mount markings
19” single edged falchion blade maker marked PDL
Reverse side of the blade with crowned Royal cypher Original brass mounted brown leather scabbard
Top mount with matching numbers as stated
The throat mount is damaged.
Part of the flat top piece is missing (snapped off ?)
As is the throat spring retaining screw
I suspect it was taken apart to be repaired
But never actually done .
Looks to be an easy enough job
I tend to leave as found for the next owner to decide
Scabbard leather has lost its rear stitching
It’s also still fairly Soft but still strong
I’m sure it could be varnished or shellacked
To improve it’s rigidity if desired
An impressive looking item ,with matching numbers
In need of a small repair that would improve it untold
Would make a nice addition to any collection.

UNUSUAL METAL HILTED JAMBIYA & SCABBARD

Unusual North African (?) Jambiya
A all metal form that I’ve not seen before
Metal slab sided 5” grip
Incorporating the cross guard & triangular pommel
With a heavily curved double edged 8” blade
Original wooden scabbard
With metal top & bottom mounts
I’m not sure what the grip and mounts are made of
The whole thing has been heavily lacquered
This has obviously been done many years ago
But could be removed if one wished to
A somewhat crude but very effective weapon
Would clean up very well if desired.
I have said North African in origin -
I honestly don’t know it could be Sudanese
As it came with other weapons from the region
