ITALIAN FASCIST GIL FEZ


Black felt Italian Fascist Fez
With attached Aluminium GIL insignia
(Sown into place)
Fez stands approximately 5” tall
With a central felt loop
To this a tassel approximately 14.5” is attached
Some discolouration to the tassel and fez body
Both inside and out
Nothing to detract from this item
Italian Fascist youth Fez’s are rarely seen
This is one of two recently purchased
The first I’ve actually had in many years

ITALIAN FASCIST "FIGLI DELLA LUPA" FEZ


Very small Italian Fascist youth Fez
Belonging to a member of “Figli Della Lula”
Otherwise known as the “Children of the She Wolf”
For children aged between 6-8 years old
This is tiny maybe 6.5 - 7” across
4.5” tall with a central felt loop
With attached tassel approx 6.5” long
The front with attached gilt badge
Of Romulus and Remus suckling from a she wolf
Minor marking to both inside and outside of the fez
I’ve never had one of these before a scarce item

WW1 PERIOD ROYAL NAVY BICORN HAT & TIN

A very nice WW1 period RN Bicorn hat
Contained in it’s original Black Japanned tin
Unfortunately no makers - retailers markings
On either the silk lining or the tin
Gilt metal kings crown button
With gilt wire decoration to the hat
Felt / moleskin body
The metal tin has the remains of a paper label
It’s original carrying handle and hasp / staple fixing

All in all a really nice collectable item
In good untouched condition

In good clean condition
A couple of minor moth nips but nothing noticeable
Partial ink stamp inside
Can’t make out a size or date etc
Cap badge with one lug missing sown into place
One side with the other lug bent over
This appears a period adaptation
With two KC RAF front buttons
Nice side cap

NAMED WW2 OFFICERS WASH BOWLS AND COVER


WW2 Officers personal kit
A canvas and leather cover
With two white enamel wash bowls
The cover is named to

Col F.C DRAKE
10th Royal Hussars

With additional number 30798 and regimental flash
Cover has a large leather strap to hold it to the bowl
This hasn’t been tightened in years
As such I’ve left it alone and not attempted to use it
There’s also a split to one edge & the inner lining
Both bowls have minor enamel damage
The smaller one marked Foreign in blue to the base

Still an interesting item ,mundane but essential
In pretty good condition for its age.

The Officer concerned-

Won the Military Cross in 1917
OBE in WW2 (North West Europe)
Mentioned in dispatches WW2 (Again NW Europe)

ITS TATTY OLD AND WORN BUT TOTALLY AUTHENTIC AND WAS NO DOUBT A PRIZED POSSESSION OF THIS SERVICEMAN WHILST IN HIS YEARS OF CAPTIVITY

Unusual example being totally unmarked
No date or makers markings at all
Very slight catch to the top edge of the body

PRE WW1 FRENCH CAVALRY TUNIC


1874 Pattern French Dragoon’s tunic
(These were used up until WW1)
As can be seen it’s in need of some TLC
But far from a Basket Case
There’s some moth but nothing too drastic
All the Frogging is still in place
The main thing is the buttons
Four are missing and four are damaged beyond use
The lining is in place and in good condition
(With a stamp for a theatrical company)
Otherwise it just needs a bit of cosmetic work
Tacking back the frogging etc
A dry clean may also help
A good restoration project definitely worth its money

In a modern Mount and frame
Approximately 12” x 10” in size
Certificate is unusual as is named to an Indian
“Haji Mohamed Musa” & dated 30th June 1942
Mounted with a small silver MID leaf below
No research done at all

Very unusual long barrelled pistol holster
In Brown leather to fit the Sam Brown equipment
Appears professionally made
Possibly for a 7.5” Webley & Scott revolver
These were intended as target pistols
But could have been carried by Officers
As they would have been a Private purchase item.
Good clean condition
A couple of small creases / cracks to the leather
But nothing to detract from the item.
Currently stuffed with newspaper
To help retain its shape

These were removed and replaced years ago
By proper stone memorials
These original markers were just burnt or dumped
I obtained a number of these some years ago,
All in a similar condition.
They can be researched via the German War Graves
Please note these have not been stolen or looted
But obtained via legitimate means
All from the same French or Belgian cemetery
I just can’t remember which one
The wood has deteriorated over the years
(It has been treated with a clear epoxy varnish)
